CNY celebration

House Decor at my sweet sweet home

Taken moments before the lion dance arrived on the 2nd day of CNY. The school of paper fish pasted on the wall are of mine and sis-in-law's effort, something really creative, i thought. It really brightens up that corner of the house!

Here it is, the lion dance--annual event which will not be missed by my family! It is thought that by inviting the lion dance into the house is a sign of prosperity and good luck. This is, however, symbolic. Whatever it is, i still firmly believe that at the end of the day, karma counts. By cultivating more good karma and creating less bad karma will help one to have a smooth sail in life.
Headed for grandma's house around 3pm for CNY visiting. That's the time when Ang Pows flow into my handbag, hehe... 4 of us left without brother as he sprained his neck. Pity him, slept for the whole day without going anywhere. His absence didn't mean the absence of his ang pows, anyway :) Sis-in-law was his assistant this year to distribute the ang pows at granny's place.

Finally, we managed to take a family photo on the 3rd day of CNY--just before going off for Dim Sum breakfast. Brother was feeling much better then, good thing for him. THough the breakfast was in a rush as they both were rushing back to Penang(his in law's place), it was the quality time which we spent together that counted.

After breakfast with my family, off i went to my former form teacher's house with KH. The number of ex-classmates who were present was much lesser than those of previous years but the closeness was always there, just like 8 years ago when we were still young, still young... :)

This was a special birthday cake for KH's mom and little brother. It was a simple combined-celebration for them both whose birthdays are only 4 days apart--9th Feb and 13th Feb. I'm really glad to see his family so happy, especially his mom. I think she must have not expected something from us both. I thought, that was just a small contribution to his family as we're always faraway from home. Deep in my heart, there was a sense of satisfaction seeing their happy faces. Though never being said, expression tells how much it meant to them.

May you both always be well n happy!

This CNY was a rush one but was nevertheless filled with happiness and joy. Really hope it'll be a good year with many happy returns for everyone and may all my family & friends have a wonderful year ahead! For me, i wish that...
a. i will be able to find a part-time job to support my own living expenses
b. i'll have a smooth sail in my master's programme
c. i'll be more aware in having the right speech, right act and right thought from time to time.
d. my love life will be as fresh as ever! :)

HAPPY CNY to everyone who celebrates and kung hey fat choy! :)

Welcome the year of the RAT!

Wowwww......Red packets and CNY cards--courtesy of AmBank

SPot the RAt? :)

As usual, wrote and sent out CNY cards through snail mail. More meaningful, isn't it?

It's all about Chinese New Year now! Only exactly a week to go, shopping and preparation is almost done--only lack of a handbag right now. Aha! Have started packing some of the things i need to bring back home this coming weekend. Putting those things in a corner, i think the boots of my car will be full! Partly are my CNY stuffs, partly are unused stuffs--e.g. convo gifts, and partly are things my bro n sis-in-law need me to bring back home cos they're flying back this time round.

Mom made the 'Kuih Bakul' yesterday--the secret recipe from my 94years old grandma many years ago and it has been carried on by my mom and aunties. My Aunties actually make and sell! Good source of income as it costs around RM8 per kg. However, patience and great time are needed to ensure the finest quality of the Kuih Bakul. Well well, longing to taste my mom's Kuih Bakul... again! :D Yummy yummy~

Countdown to the day I'm going back home--5/6 days! (undecided yet)

Kindness

I always thought, we'll be treated the same way if we're nice to other people.
But now, i realise that it doesn't always work that way.
In return, our kindness will be taken advantage of!
Sigh...
It's really disheartening as time passes by... but what to do?
Just believe that i'm doing good deeds that will never hurt others.
I think,
that'll be good enough.

Chinese New Year!

~CNY 2007~

While retrieving some old pictures in my PC, saw this photo which was taken during last year's CNY. Looking at it, really can't wait to get back home to see my parents~

Well, CNY shopping for myself has been ongoing since last June and just done with it last week. It's simply because I love taking my own sweet time shopping for the nicer ones for CNY. Don't like rushing anyway. That's why i always buy and keep! Friends of mine always envy my 'perseverance' of keeping them and not wearing them anytime. Well, that's the discipline that i have in me, i'd say. Since i've got sufficient to wear, then why not just keep them for CNY? :)

About 10more days to go before leaving for my hometown. That's one of the best moments at home--to be with dad, mom, brother n sis-in-law. Counting down for CNY... counting down...
